Do you ever wake up with any of these symptoms Monday (or any) morning?
a.) eyes are more puffy then usual and are not opening as wide?
b.) skin is a tight and dull?
c.) digestion is off? aka too many or not enough trips to the bathroom.
These symptoms could be due to eating out over the weekend and consuming more sodium then usual, dehydration and your liver being over worked. Here are some tips to help you get going on Monday morning and every day of the week to naturally support the body’s organs that keep you going and give you energy.
Hydrate (before you get out of bed): You have not had anything to drink for 8 hours or more. It is important to rehydrate the cells before you do anything else especially drink coffee which will dehydrate you more.
How to oil pull:
Oil pulling is by far one of our favorite tools and so easy to do. Oil pulling removes unwanted bacteria and yeast from the mouth, which supports a healthy body. You can use coconut oil or sesame oil. To do this, put 1-2 tablespoons of oil in your mouth and swish the oil for 5-20 minutes. Then, spit the oil into the trash to avoid it hardening and clogging up your sink. Rinse your mouth with water and sea salt and then brush your teeth. You want to do oil pulling on an empty stomach. If you are doing both oil pulling and tongue scraping, we suggest you start with the oil pulling.
How to tongue scrap:
We suggest scraping your tongue daily in the morning and before bed. This method removes the mucus and toxic build-up in your mouth. Use a tongue scraper or a spoon to reach to the back of your tongue and pull forward, scraping off the white film and repeat. Our favorite scraper is Dr. Tung’s Tongue Cleaner. You can buy this on Amazon or at your local natural food store.
Drink Lemon Water Elixir
1 cup room temperature water
1 lemon, juiced
1 tablespoon raw apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon raw honey or stevia (to taste, optional)
Dash sea salt
This is a good time to take your probiotic.
1 cup frozen pineapple
1 cup spinach
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1/2 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon bee pollen
1 1/2 cups non-dairy milk
Put in a blender and blend until smooth
2 tablespoons cranberry juice concentrate
6 ounces room temperature water
1 lemon, juiced
Dash of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of raw honey or stevia (optional)
NOTE: If you cannot find cranberry concentrate, you can use pomegranate or cherry concentrate instead
Dinner – pack your plate with plenty of colors with lots of vegetables and a clean protein.
You will feel a world of difference fueling on these foods and drinks instead of extra caffeine and refined carbs.
